About the ROQHAS
OUR MISSION
Founded in 2020, the Regroupement des organismes québécois pour les hommes agressés sexuellement (ROQHAS)’s mission is to bring together non-profit organizations dedicated to supporting men who have experienced sexual violence in Quebec, as well as all professional concerned by this reality. Currently, it represents more than twenty members. ROQHAS is mainly involved in the promotion, financing, improvement and development of services adapted to the needs and realities of men who have experienced sexual violence.

We are committed to creating positive change for men who have experienced sexual violence and improving the services available to them.
OUR GOALS
Our first objective is to bring together organizations and professional working in the field of sexual violence among men. By joining forces, we strengthen our ability to support and help men who have experienced such attacks.
We are committed to supporting and encouraging the development of organizations that provide services to men victims of sexual violence. We also seek to promote their adaptation in order to fulfil the specific needs of men in this situation
We act as a political voice to defend the rights and interests of men who have experienced sexual violence. We advocate for policies and measures that support their recovery and recognize the importance of the organizations that help them.
We strive to raise awareness and diffuse information regarding the issues faced by men victims of sexual violence. We want to eliminate taboos and encourage a fairer understanding of this reality.
We encourage collaboration and the exchange of expertise between organizations working in the field of men sexual violence. We also support the continuing training of workers to improve their ability to offer services adapted to the needs of those men.
We create a space to network and collaboration between the different partners involved in supporting men who have experienced sexual violence. We believe in the power of teamwork and cooperation to tackle this complex issue.
We are committed to develop knowledge about men who have experienced sexual violence in Quebec. We seek to obtain a complete portrait of this reality in order to better understand the needs of these men and to guide our actions in an informed manner.

Our organization is managed by and for our members. We encourage their active involvement in the various decision-making processes. We believe in democratic governance that gives everyone the opportunity to participate, express themselves and contribute to our common mission.
